Why did you come to Japan?
Before living in Japan, I had an interest in Japanese culture and technology, and took Japanese language lessons in Birmingham. I wanted to see the sights and hear the sounds of Tokyo and Kyoto so I first visited in 2005. I have been living in Japan since 2008.
日本の文化とテクノロジーに興味があり、バーミンガムで日本語のレッスンを受けました。2005年最初に旅行で日本に来たのは、東京や京都の雰囲気を感じたかったからです。2008年から日本に住んでいます。
Why do you like teaching?
I enjoy meeting people and finding common interests, building rapport with young learners and adults alike.
Teaching English means I can help students to communicate their thoughts and feelings in English, giving them the opportunity to open up and practise English conversation and language skills. I also hope to share cross cultural experiences in business and life.
子どもも大人も仲良くできます。生徒のみなさんが英語で考えていることを伝えることができるよう、英語のスキルを練習できる機会を設けていきます。講師としての仕事を通して、日本と英国の異文化理解を深めていきたいと思っています。
