11月12日(日)、シェーン英会話越谷地区のスピーチコンテストが川口文化センター リリアで開催されました。「子供の部」では、７才のJちゃんがみごと優勝！がんばってレッスンを受けてきた成果ですね。おめでとうございます。Jちゃんのスピーチは、今年の夏に初参加した「シェーン・ジュニアバケーションプログラム」のイギリスでの体験記でした。どんな経験をしてきたのか気になりますよね？ここでスピーチをご紹介しますので、ぜひ読んでみてください。

The first time I studied English abroad
Hello! I'm 7 years old. This summer, I studied in the UK for 3 weeks on the Shane study abroad program.
I was very nervous when I flew on the air plane, because it was my first trip abroad.
The UK is very far, and there were no family or friends. So sometimes I got homesick, but I tried to overcome it. My parents always say "you have to decide by yourself". Sometimes it's very difficult. This time, I decided to go to the UK, so I thought I had to do my best. Since then I tried hard to speak in English and made friends.
On an excursion day, we went to Leeds castle. I was very excited to go to a real castle. The castle is very big and it has many rooms. But the princess and prince were not there. The real castle is deserted, not like in the stories.
When I was in the UK, there was terrorist attack. The Inspection at the airport was very strict. Until then I didn't know what terrorism was. My parents explained it when I came back to Japan. It's too difficult to understand , but I thought it's unbelievable and sad.
Through this study abroad, I found there are many countries in the world. I made friends whose language, hair and skin color is different. They are from Germany, South America and Russia. My mother says it's difficult being good friends with people from other countries. But I believe it's not impossible. We need to help each other.
I'm afraid of terrorism, but I still want to go to the UK again and other countries too. I want to meet many nice people and I want to see many beautiful places. So, I'm going to study English hard. Thank you for listening.
