Where do you come from?

I come from Liverpool. It's famous for music, bands like the Coral, Echo and the Bunnymen and - of course - the Beatles are my favourites. I miss watching my football team, Liverpool FC, so it's great that it is popular in Japan. I only wish the matches weren't on TV at 3 am! Liverpool is a fantastic city, with lots of theatres, shops, bars and restaurants, and it's great for sightseeing. What is the best thing about being a Shane teacher?

It’s maybe obvious, but the people I meet. I teach all ages, from tiny playgroup children learning ABCs for the first time, to adults studying for a hobby, travel or examinations. Everyone has a different reason for studying, but it is always great to see students gain confidence in using English and help them achieve their goals.

What do you like about Japan?
